Die Plastikverschmutzung hat das öffentliche Bewusstsein stark getroffen. Programme wie die der BBC Blauer Planet erzählt von David Attenborough und dem Sky Ocean Rescue movement showcase the detrimental effects of plastic pollution. Supermarkets use a large amount of plastic in their packaging, particularly for fruit and vegetables, even though many have their own natural protection. The reason supermarkets use so much plastic packaging is to protect food and prevent food waste. Removing plastic entirely may not be the best solution when it comes to protecting the environment and conserving valuable resources.
